‘From Lame to Go’ with Roundhouse Referrals’ TPLO+

Marking the first anniversary of its launch of Scotland’s first Fixed Price Fix TPLO service, Roundhouse Referrals, the veterinary referrals service based in the award-winning Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital in Glasgow’s southside, has announced the further expansion of its service with the launch of a pioneering structured rehabilitation and recovery plan for every patient having ‘Fixed Price Fix’ TPLO+ surgery.

Lead Roundhouse Referrals’ surgeon, Ross Allan, an award-winning RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, said: “Over the last year we’ve performed ‘Fixed Price Fix’ TPLO surgery on dogs of every shape and size, and by doing so have transformed access to advanced surgery for dogs across Scotland. The feedback we’ve had from the referral and surgical process has been really positive from both vets and clients alike.

“However, we have been increasingly aware that pet owners are keen for information about rehabilitation and recovery and how best to use such services for the benefit of their pet. By launching ‘From Lame to Go’ with TPLO+ we will follow up the TPLO surgery with a modular rehabilitation plan which will support the patient’s recovery, endeavouring to make it as reliable and predictable as our ‘Fixed Price Fix’.”

With regular rehabilitation consults and a personalised rehabilitation plan, RVN Cheree Mayell, who was recently awarded the BSAVA Vet Nurse Merit Award in Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy, will lead ‘From Lame to Go’ providing a structured rehabilitation plan to ensure patients receive the support required to ensure a swift and effective recovery from their ‘Fixed Price Fix’ TPLO+ surgery.

Prices for ‘Fixed Price Fix’ TPLO+ are: Dogs < 40kgs: £3300; Dogs >40kgs: £3410, and includes: referral consultation; diagnostic X-rays/assessment; pre-surgical blood samples; hospitalisation; anaesthesia; surgery (including implants); enrolment on ‘From Lame to Go’ rehabilitation plan; follow up consultations and follow-up X-rays.

“Whilst we don’t expect anything to go wrong, should we need to revise our surgery we would do so at no additional cost to the client – that’s our ‘Fixed Price Fix’!” said Allan.

“Roundhouse Referrals provides high value, accessible, advanced care underpinned by good communication and continuity of care. If there are any other ways in which we can assist you, or cases for which you may wish some advice, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
