Thomson Wealth Management set for growth with key appointments and relocation

Glasgow-based Thomson Wealth Management, the boutique fee-based advisors established by two former members of RBS’s Private Banking division, is all set for its next stage of growth following its relocation into new office premises and two key appointments.

Established four years ago by Keith Thomson and Sonya Peace, the firm has moved into newly refurbished premises in a historic listed building at 34 West George Street, in the heart of Glasgow city centre. It has appointed Paul Moore as a Director and Christina McEwan as a Paraplanner, both of whom join from a leading firm of Glasgow solicitors.

Offering a holistic and independent wealth management service, Thomson Wealth Management’s range of specialist services encompasses tax planning, investment management, individual pension planning, corporate employee benefits, family and livelihood protection/planning and mortgage sourcing and advice.

Keith Thomson, Director, said: “The impetus for establishing the company was to continue to look after our clients’ and offer them a safe pair of hands following the dilution and subsequent withdrawal of the banks service to private clients.

“We had established a level of trust and strong relationships with our clients and felt a responsibility to maintain these relationships and level of service, which the bank did not. Wealth management is a very personal business and our clients appreciate our personal approach.

“That has proven to be an attractive proposition – there are many people who are no longer receiving any wealth management advice from their bank – and we are now ready to take the company to the next stage with Paul and Christina’s appointments, which significantly enhance our client proposition and technical capabilities.”

Of his appointment, Paul Moore, Director, said: “I have known Keith for over 10 years – we are both highly experienced, but still relatively young with a good few decades of client service ahead of us – and I knew that we shared the same ethos: an emphasis on client service over the longer-term and delivery of optimum investment solutions at a competitive cost. As such, I am delighted to join the team.

“As a Chartered Financial Planner, I bring additional expertise to the firm. This higher level of qualification enables me to find the best solution for our clients, which in many cases is a simple solution to a complex client situation.”

Thomson Wealth Management, which currently has some £40 million under management, has ambitious plans for further growth.

“Our plans for the future are to continue to grow our business and assets under management” said Thomson.

“Our new offices will allow us to expand and even double in size and we are actively growing through client referrals and professional connections. We are also on the look-out to acquire a firm of advisors with a similar ethos, service level and client base.”

A boutique, agile and efficient young company, Thomson Wealth Management presently services clients from London to Lerwick and aims to provide the highest level of service to its clients.
