Festive fundraising and competition winners at The Avenue
The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns concluded 2016 with a record-breaking charity fundraising effort amid celebrations for some 25 festive competition winners!
The festive period saw The Avenue raise over £2000 for various local charities, including Cash for Kids and the Salvation Army, Barrhead, helping bring the annual charity total raised from events in the mall to over £4800.
And the shopping centre’s ‘Guess What’s In The Box’ competition giving shoppers the chance to win some big, sought-after prizes in the run up to Christmas was won by Glen Collins from Newton Mearns, who snapped up the top prize of a whopping £1000 to spend in Thomas Cook, The Avenue.
Centre Manager Michelle McCabe said: “Congratulations to Glen. Winning the prize of a lifetime means that Glen was spoilt for choice! We hope his family holiday to Mallorca will be even more enjoyable knowing £1000 was already paid off thanks to entering our Christmas competition!”
And there was a winner every day snapping up family tickets to The King’s Theatre Cinderella pantomime in The Avenue’s popular ‘Find the Glass Slipper’ competition.
McCabe added: “Well done to all of The Avenue’s competition winners from Greenock to Ayrshire and everywhere in between!”
The Avenue Shopping Centre, owned by NewRiver, offers shoppers a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
