EventScotland Funding secures BOWFest’s status as Best Of The West
EventScotland is delighted to support Best Of The West Festival (BOWFest), through its National Funding Programme. The family-friendly festival featuring music, art, crafts, food and drink will be held in the grounds of Inveraray Castle from 8-10th September 2017.
One of 14 forthcoming events taking place across the country to benefit from a share of £145,500, Best Of The West Festival has been awarded £6,000 for advertising and to enhance programming to increase attendance figures and improve the overall visitor experience.
A celebration of music that shines a light on Argyll as a prominent and world-class dining, drinking and travel destination, this year’s event, which has been extended to three days, features a fantastic line-up of 21 musical acts – including headliners Skipinnish, Skerryvore and Eddi Reader.
Also showcased at the festival are the quality and diversity of the delicious food and drink produced in Argyll & The Isles. Celebrity chefs demonstrating their skills in using these on the festival kitchen stage include Gary Maclean – winner of Masterchef The Professionals 2016, Graeme Cheevers of Martin Wishart Loch Lomond, Paul Leonard of Isle of Eriska Hotel, Andrew Maclugash of Samphire Restaurant and Thai chef Sujitra Scott.
Eleanor, Duchess of Argyll, Best Of The West Festival chairperson, said: “EventScotland’s funding is itself testament to the quality and range on offer at our extended Best Of The West Festival this year. We are grateful for this support which will help ensure that this year’s Best Of The West Festival is our best ever!” Stuart Turner, Head of EventScotland, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Best of The West Festival through our National Programme this year. Scotland is the perfect stage for cultural events and the festival is a great boost for Argyll, giving visitors and locals alike the chance to enjoy a fantastic selection of food and drink and live music within the stunning grounds of Inveraray Castle.”
Inveraray Castle, the jewel in the West Highland’s crown, provides a stunning venue for the event, which is fully under cover. The imposing, turreted castle, sits on the edge of Loch Fyne surrounded by the breath-taking scenery of the west coast. Best Of The West Festival will take place in the grounds of the castle with the castle itself, hills and loch as a backdrop. Best Of The West Festival has teamed up with West Coast Motors to provide packages that incorporate special festival bus transport as well as entrance to the festival to and from Glasgow, Oban and Dunoon.
