Dunn’s, winner of the 2007 bar refurbishment of the year award, has given the popular Bar Budda in Sauchiehall Street a £150,000 facelift. The makeover marks the latest in a series of refurbishments the award-winning design company has been commissioned to deliver since Dark Star Scotland took over ownership of the Budda chain last year.

The striking redesign of the city centre bar/restaurant gives it a fresh contemporary feel certain to appeal to revellers out to enjoy a drink or two and a bite to eat in stylish bar and restaurant surroundings.

Michael Dunn, managing director of Dunn’s, said, “Our detailed design brief was to create a quality, warm and welcoming environment that matches Bar Budda’s style-conscious clientele.

Glasgow is a very style-conscious city, which is why publicans and restaurateurs acknowledge the need to refurbish their offering at regular intervals in order to both retain existing customers and attract new clientele. “Bar Budda appeals to couples out to enjoy a meal together, groups of students out for a few beers and friends socialising over a glass or two of wine, which is why the facelift we’ve given the Sauchiehall Street outlet incorporates various elements designed deliberately to appeal to each of these customer profiles.”

Euan Bain of Dark Star Scotland said, “The redesign of our Bar Budda at Sauchiehall Street is already proving extremely popular with regular customers and helping attract new patrons. Having coincided with the securing of an entertainment licence to 3am and an enhanced food offering, the facelift has helped refresh and revitalise this bustling city centre outlet.” Scotland’s leading complete design and build specialist to the leisure sector, Dunn’s unique solution comprises redesigns, refurbishments and new build developments in venues as varied as style bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels.
